From the desk of your Kelly recruiter
I’m looking for a detail-loving, steady, reliable Embroidery Inspector who actually enjoys working with fabric, thread, and finished garments. This is a great fit if you’ve been sewing at home or as a hobby and you’re ready to turn that skill into a full-time job in a clean, family-oriented apparel shop in the Bourbonnais/Bradley area.
If you can talk confidently about what you sew and you like seeing finished product in your hands, this is for you.
?
What you’ll do
• Work around computerized embroidery machines and finished garments.
• Review work orders on a screen to confirm design, name/number, thread colors, and garment size.
• Check embroidery quality: placement, stitch alignment, loose threads, missing stitches, and color accuracy.
• Inspect finished items for snags, crooked designs, misprints, or stains and set aside pieces that need rework.
• Lightly trim threads, re-hoop or re-run small items after training.
• Track counts so the team knows when each order is complete.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe in a production floor setting.
?
What you bring
• 6–12 months of sewing experience – home, hobby, alterations, quilting, or previous sewing/embroidery all count.
• Ability to clearly explain your sewing experience in a short interview (what you sew, how often, what machines/tools you use).
• Comfortable using computers or touch screens (opening files, selecting options, reading basic on-screen instructions).
• Strong attention to detail – you notice crooked seams, off-center prints, and color mismatches quickly.
• Able to stand and move around most of the shift and lift 25–30 lbs occasionally (boxes of garments).
Nice-to-have (we’ll train the right person):
• Experience with embroidery machines, heat press, screen printing, Cricut, or other fabric tools.
• Prior work in apparel production, alterations, or custom garment shops.
?
What you’ll love
• Steady schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. – predictable days, no surprise overtime.
• Temp-to-hire path: 3–6 months with Kelly, then eligible for hire-on based on performance and business needs.
• Creative, hands-on work: you help bring team uniforms, spirit wear, and logo apparel to life.
• Weekly pay and access to Kelly® benefits, which may include health, dental, vision, 401(k), and learning/upskilling resources.
?
If you’re ready to turn your sewing skills into a consistent full-time role, apply. We’ll review your background personally and reach out for a short phone screen to talk through your sewing experience and next steps.
