Employment: Contract – 6 months with a chance of extension 

Shift: Monday to Friday | 3 shifts available | Can render 12 hours and some saturday duties.  

1st shift-7am to 3pm (4 needed) 
2nd shift-3pm to 11pm (2needed) 
3rd shift-11pm to 7am (1 needed) 

Pay Rate:  $24/hr 

Bill Rate: NTE CLIENT BILL RATE:$33.72 (will be updated on WO) 
NTE SUPPLIER RATE:$32.91 

Summary of responsibilities:  

We are seeking a dependable Mill Laborer / General Utility Worker to support daily operations in a heavy industrial mill environment. This role involves general manual labor, housekeeping, equipment operation, and material handling. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, physically capable, and able to work in hot, cold, and dirty conditions while contributing positively to a team-based environment. 

 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform general manual labor throughout the mill, including sweeping, shoveling, and picking up paper 

  • Clean work areas using various hand tools and equipment 

  • Operate a core cutting machine to cut cores 

  • Handle and work with chemicals following safety guidelines 

 

  • Operate a forklift (approximately 10% of the role) to: 

1.Move loose paper 

2. Empty dump hoppers 

3. Transport paper rolls and pallets 

 

  • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure 

  • Assist with other general labor and utility tasks as assigned 

  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards 

Must-haves:  

  • Steel toe shoes required 

  • Heavy industrial or mill/labor experience 

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly 

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dirty, and physically demanding environments 

  • Ability to pass a drug test including THC 

  • Fully cleared and available to start work 

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork 

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure 

  • Willingness to work in a tobacco-free facility (no smoking, vaping, chewing, or tobacco use anywhere on company property) 

Nice-to-Haves 

  • Prior forklift experience (training provided if needed) 

  • Previous experience in a paper mill or manufacturing environment 

  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning tools or machinery
