Pay Rate: $20/hour

Schedule: 6:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Thursday
Kelly Services is hiring for our client, a Steel Door & Frame Manufacturing Facility in Rapid City! We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production & Logistics Associate to support both our production floor and shipping department.

Position Overview
In this dual-role position, you will operate machinery to manufacture steel components, assist with general labor tasks, and coordinate all shipping and logistics operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, is safety-focused, and demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Production & General Labor
- Operate machinery and equipment for fabricating steel parts (cutting, forming, punching, etc.)
- Assist production teams with material handling, part preparation, and workflow needs
- Follow blueprints, work orders, and supervisor instructions to ensure accuracy and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle/dispose of scrap materials appropriately
- Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and operational procedures
Logistics & Shipping
- Oversee all outbound shipments: packaging, labeling, and preparing steel frames, doors, and components
- Coordinate daily shipping schedules to meet customer deadlines and production timelines
- Safely and efficiently load and unload trucks
- Verify shipping documentation and bills of lading—ensure order accuracy before shipping
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies
- Communicate with freight carriers, drivers, and internal teams regarding shipments and logistical concerns
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, labor, logistics, or shipping preferred
- Forklift experience or certification strongly desired (training provided)
- Able to operate production machinery safely (training provided)
- Physically able to lift 50–75 lbs as needed
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Capable of following both written and verbal instructions; blueprint reading a plus
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, steel materials, noise, and welding operations
- Requires extended periods of standing, bending, lifting, and general physical activity
