What’s a typical day as a Refrigeration Mechanic? You’ll be:
-
Troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration, HVAC, ammonia systems, boilers, compressors, and related plant equipment
-
Performing daily checks and routine inspections on all refrigeration systems
-
Leading the refrigeration team to complete tasks and resolve equipment issues
-
Replacing and repairing boilers, coolers, condensers, evaporators, and HVAC components
-
Performing scheduled preventive maintenance, including cleaning filters, evaporators, and condensers
-
Monitoring, cleaning, and repairing plant systems such as traps, filtrations, and condensers
-
Requisitioning parts and supplies as needed
-
Maintaining clean and safe work areas following company procedures
-
Completing required paperwork, logs, checklists, and documentation per OSHA and EPA regulations
-
Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and plans
-
Supporting maintenance by modifying machinery, wiring, and piping when required
-
Working independently or with a team to meet production and maintenance goals
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

A High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum 2 years of refrigeration maintenance experience (commercial HVAC required; industrial experience preferred)

Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safety standards

Strong leadership and communication skills
-
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work overtime as needed
-
Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets
-
Ability to read blueprints and maintenance plans
-
Strong organization and multitasking skills
-
Ability to work scheduled shifts and maintain regular attendance

Employment: 5-month contract

Shift:

Regular shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Training shift (first 4–8 weeks): 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations

Reliable attendance required to meet production needs
