Job Title: Die Setter – Formax Experience Required
Shift: 2nd shift with some overtime!
Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Die Setter at a global industry leader in the manufacturing and distribution of fasteners and components. In this essential role, you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting dies—especially on Foremax machines—to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts for the heavy truck, automotive, and other demanding markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Die Setting Expertise Required: Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot dies specifically on Foremax machinery; ensure dies are installed for safe and efficient production.

  • Formax Experience: Utilize your firsthand experience with Formax equipment to optimize machine cycles, changeover efficiency, and tooling performance.

  • Maintenance: Perform daily/weekly preventative maintenance on dies and Formax machines to maintain peak performance.

  • Measurement Skills: Regularly use micrometers, microcalipers, and other gauges to check part dimensions and quality.

  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints to verify specs, materials, and ensure proper die setup.

  • SPC Monitoring: Use SPC process monitoring systems and machine controls as part of routine production checks.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate quality records, die changeover documentation, and related reports.

  • Teamwork: Communicate and collaborate effectively with machine operators, supervisors, and team leads.

  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and previous die setting experience, specifically with Formax machines.

  • Attention to detail for precise measurement and accurate documentation.

  • Organizational and time-management skills.

  • Problem-solving ability for independent troubleshooting.

  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting production goals.

  • Good communication, both written and verbal.

  • Basic computer literacy.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience setting dies on Formax machinery required

  • Skilled with hand tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, microcalipers, gauges)

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing 8-10 hours/day

  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, high-priority environment
