Manufacturing Engineer
- Location: Akron, PA
- Direct Hire (Onsite)
- Must work Without sponsorship
- Salary – 75k-90k (Depending on experience)
Primary Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cost, improving quality, and minimizing downtime. This role serves as a key technical problem-solver on the manufacturing floor, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Tooling, and Production teams.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturing-related issues and production disruptions

Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, and uptime

Coordinate efforts between floor personnel, supervisors, engineers, and tooling teams

Report project status, risks, and results to management

Develop and maintain documentation including project plans, procedures, and final reports

Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

Support Engineering with technical documentation, application notes, and test reports
-
Analyze test failures and support Process Engineering, Quality, and Production teams

Assist Tooling with tool trials and evaluate production tooling requests

Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain test equipment,

Develop, maintain, and verify RF test programs, procedures, and calibration hardware
Qualifications
-
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics (Bachelor’s preferred)

5+ years of hands-on manufacturing process improvement experience

Green Belt Six Sigma certification preferred
-
Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement tools preferred

Strong knowledge of machining practices, materials, and manufacturing processes
Technical Skills
-
Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters)

Experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer preferred)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
-
Comfortable working with tight tolerances
