Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Pay Rate: $17/hour
Temp to Hire
Shift: 6 AM – 3 PM M -F , some overtime / weekend may be required
*** Supports ability to be bi-lingual (Spanish Speaking)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our growing production team. This multifaceted role combines Inspect Associate and Shipping Associate responsibilities to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety in glass product fabrication, inspection, and shipping processes.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints/specifications for both product fabrication and shipping crate construction
- Measure products and materials using tape measures, gauges, and templates
- Inspect products, accept or reject finished goods, and communicate with the production team about inspection results
- Use and maintain equipment/tools, perform routine maintenance
- Fabricate, inspect, and repair shipping crates per ISPM guidelines and specific requirements
- Manage inventory of inspection and packing materials as well as shipping supplies
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts, internal control enhancement, and preventive maintenance
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects and support other production functions as needed
- Organize and clean work areas at the end of shifts
- Ensure all products, packaging, and crating meet SGP quality standards and safety guidelines
- Provide feedback and suggestions for safety improvements
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in manufacturing/production, crate assembly, or shipping preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, use measuring tools, and perform detailed inspections
- Familiarity with ASTM and ISPM standards is a plus
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and respectfulness
- Effective communication skills for escalating issues and collaborating with others
- Proactive and diligent in identifying opportunities for improvement
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
