- Salary 90k-110k (Depending on experience)
About the Role
The Applications Engineer works closely with customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to define, recommend, and support solutions for both new and existing applications. This role owns the technical aspects of the sales cycle, from opportunity identification and solution definition to prototype development, launch support, and post-release technical assistance.
Key Responsibilities

Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality)

Review customer specifications and assess product compliance; recommend standard or customized interconnect solutions

Provide technical support for Rosenberger North America products and services

Identify customer needs and propose product modifications or new product concepts

Support new product introductions (NPI) as a subject-matter expert

Develop application documentation and coordinate engineering changes

Assist Manufacturing and Quality in resolving production issues and improving product quality

Oversee prototype assembly and testing in collaboration with engineering technicians and machinists

Participate in MRB activities as required

Support cost analysis, pricing, profitability, and market assessments

Travel to customer sites, vendors, trade shows, and standards meetings as needed
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
-
5+ years of experience in the manufacturing or Engineering
-
Experience in a sustaining engineering or customer-facing technical role
-
Working knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., USCAR/EWCAP, AEC, IPC, ASTM, SAE, IEEE, IATF)

Broad technical foundation across multiple disciplines

Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner closely with sales teams and customers
