SUMMARY
Our client is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer for their manufacturing site in Monee, IL. The facility specializes in producing high-quality busbars. These components are essential for electrical power distribution and are supplied for a range of applications, including electric vehicles, switchgear, datacenters, information technology equipment, electrification projects, and other power systems. This site leverages expertise in connectivity and electronic solutions to serve diverse industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and oversee advanced quality planning processes for both launching new products and making design modifications

  • Work closely with interdisciplinary groups—such as manufacturing, research and development, and quality—to verify that product designs satisfy standards for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and overall quality

  • Create, develop, and implement Design FMEAs, control plans, and a variety of other tools used in quality planning.

  • Participate in design reviews by conducting quality risk assessments and offering suggestions for risk mitigation.

  • Root cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related quality issues.

  • Document AQP deliverables to ensure they meet both company and customer specifications.

  • Verify adherence to ISO standards, AS guidelines, and specific customer quality requirements.

  • Train and mentor other team members on quality planning principles and methodologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in design engineering, quality engineering, or AQP in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred

  • Solid communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and teams

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a heavy focus on quality, manufacturability, and cost

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship or transfer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly knowledgeable with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), FMEA, control plans, DFMEA

  • Experience with PolyWorks or PC-DMIS.

  • CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
