Job Posting: Machine Operator Assistant (MOA) – Baxter Springs, KS

Pay:
$20.00 per hour

Schedule:
Wednesday–Friday & every other Saturday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour overnight shifts)


Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator Assistant to support production with high-speed printing equipment in our Baxter Springs facility. The MOA will ensure compliance with safety programs and quality systems while helping achieve our site’s operational goals.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and serve as back-up to the Machine Operator, producing quality products at target machine speeds using safe work practices.

  • Read and understand Production Order Packets (POP); prepare all machine components for production.

  • Accurately complete daily paperwork and documentation.

  • Follow designated procedures for requisitioning/returning components and materials, inspecting and installing components/materials, and performing pre/post-production activities.

  • Help with set-up and changeover within allotted times.

  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and equipment.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Actively engage in safety programs.

  • Effectively communicate across shifts and assist/train team members as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum six months of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with high-speed processes preferred.

  • Commitment to an accident-free and drug-free workplace.

  • Quality-conscious with a focus on excellence.

  • Strong work ethic, enthusiastic, positive attitude, and high energy level.

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and creative thinking.

  • Dependable and reliable attendance record.

  • Willingness to work overtime if needed.

Physical Requirements:
This job involves frequent talking and hearing, and occasional walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, reaching, and using hands/fingers to handle equipment and push/pull levers or buttons. The employee must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
