What’s a typical day as a Shipping & Receiving Associate?

You’ll be:

  • Shipping, receiving, and boxing materials


  • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment


  • Performing both manual and clerical shipping/receiving duties


  • Using computer systems to maintain accurate shipping and receiving data


  • Receiving inbound materials and preparing outbound shipments


  • Verifying quantity, weight, and material conformance


  • Preparing shipping records, documentation, and bills of lading


  • Routing materials to appropriate destinations


  • Laying out, fabricating, and assembling nonstandard shipping crates and boxes


  • Preparing parts and tooling for special or custom shipments

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • 1–2 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience


  • Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment


  • Attention to detail and ability to handle both physical and clerical tasks


  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
