Maintenance Planner
 

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Collaborate closely with technicians and workers to incorporate their feedback and continuously improve work plans.

  • Review work orders for technical completeness; promptly return incomplete work orders to the gatekeeper for correction.

  • Develop comprehensive job plans and packages, detailing work scope, including photographs, procedures, EMETL documents, estimated man hours, and appropriate labor resources.

  • Perform field verification as needed to ensure planning accuracy.

  • Prepare and input job packages into SAP, specifying required resources, materials, and services for daily maintenance scheduling.

  • Identify, document, and sequence specific tasks necessary for job execution, ensuring all required materials, tools, and equipment are listed.

  • Actively seek out and document safety requirements; integrate Life Critical Safety Standards within job plans to ensure hazards are controlled and work can be performed safely.

  • Enforce the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by verifying all job packages include up-to-date procedures or are listed on the Procedure Exemption register, and checking that all maintenance procedures contain thorough hazard assessments.

  • Serve as a technical resource in the creation and review of procedures, updating and developing job procedures, checklists, and initiating procedure Management of Change (MOC) as required.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for clearly exchanging critical information with operations, maintenance teams, engineering, and contractors. Ensures job plans are well understood and executed safely and efficiently.

 

  • Maintenance Planning: Proven ability to create, optimize, and manage detailed job packages that facilitate safe, effective, and efficient maintenance execution.

 

  • Safety Standards: In-depth understanding of and adherence to Dow’s Life Critical Standards, the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy, and hazard identification practices to ensure all work is performed safely and meets regulatory standards.
