Job Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire (Start with Kelly Services for 3–6 months, with opportunity to be hired on permanently)
Work Setting: Client-site based (on-site storeroom/logistics)
Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Start: ASAP (after required screenings are completed)
This role is for someone who takes pride in doing inventory work the right way—clean transactions, accurate counts, strong customer service, and steady follow-through. You’ll support internal teams with parts and inventory needs, and you’ll be a frequent point of contact—so communication and professionalism matter just as much as accuracy.

Job Details
• Pay: $19.00–$20.00/hr
• Location: Kankakee area, IL
• Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Type: Non-Exempt | Temp-to-Hire (3–6 months through Kelly Services)
• Core Focus: Receiving, stocking, issuing, kitting, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, ERP/computer transactions, customer service
• Equipment: Stand-up forklift required (details verified during interview)

What You’ll Do
• Receive material: unpack, verify against packing slips/POs, and enter receiving/inventory transactions in the system
• Stock parts into proper locations; tag/repack and handle special requests as needed
• Issue materials to internal customers: pull, stage, and kit material as required
• Deliver stock items outside of the storeroom per request and/or Kanban signals
• Operate a stand-up forklift to put away, retrieve, stage, and move inventory safely
• Process returns (unused material), vendor returns, and ship-outs for repair per SOP
• Perform cycle counts and report discrepancies for resolution
• Maintain inventory accuracy by count and location; replace barcodes and process relocations in the ERP
• Verify on-hand inventory quantities to identify reorder needs and prevent stockouts
• Keep the storeroom organized and maintained to required standards (routine cleaning included)
• Provide professional, responsive customer service and escalate issues appropriately

What I’m Looking For (Apply Only If You Meet These)
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• 2+ years of experience in inventory control, shipping clerk, warehouse clerk, or storeroom/logistics support (required)
• 6+ months of stand-up forklift experience (required)
• Strong verbal/written communication and customer-service mindset
• Basic computer proficiency (Windows/Microsoft Office + inventory/ERP systems)
• Detail-oriented and organized; able to follow SOPs and meet deadlines
• Comfortable in a fast-moving environment and able to stay calm under pressure
