Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking a Formulation Chemist to drive the development of technology advanced products for a cosmetic manufacturing company in southern Louisiana. Through innovative formulation strategies, novel delivery systems, and advanced raw materials the Chemist will formulate, test, and develop cosmetic products that meet market demands and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate combines deep formulation expertise with a strong innovative mindset to innovate, move fast, and shape the future of the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead formulation development for cosmetic products (sunscreens, acne treatments, anti-aging products) from ideation to scale-up

  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot formulations for performance, stability, safety, and cost

  • Prepare and maintain detailed formulation documentation, SOPs, and technical reports

  • Conduct bench work, pilot batches, and support manufacturing scale-up and technology transfer

  • Design and interpret stability, compatibility, and performance testing

  • Ensure formulations comply with global regulatory requirements (FDA, EU, ASEAN, etc.)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing teams

  • Evaluate raw materials, suppliers, and new technologies

  • Stay current on industry trends and innovations

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry

  • Minimum of 5 years of formulation experience in the personal care industry

  • Experience translating breakthrough technologies into commercially successful products

  • Ability to identify, fine tune and troubleshoot problems with formulations and production

  • Formulation expertise combined with an innovative mindset

This is a Direct hire position with a Monday – Friday day shift work schedule. Compensation is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience.
