What’s a typical day as an Upholstery Technician II?
You’ll be:
-
Fabricating, covering, and installing aircraft interior components such as panels, curtains, carpets, bulkheads, and cabin fittings
-
Sewing simple covers using engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
-
Working with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and metal components using adhesives, sewing equipment, and hand and power tools
-
Cutting and serging carpets and covering bulkheads and panels
-
Fitting panels, windows, cabin headliners, sidewalls, hatch panels, and other interior components
-
Using material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off completed work
-
Collaborating with lead and senior technicians to support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
-
Maintaining compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards
-
Identifying and addressing unsafe conditions proactively
-
Performing other duties as assigned
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

High School Diploma or GED (required)
-
Minimum 2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, or upholstery/carpet hand tools
-
Aerospace industry experience (preferred)
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
-
Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak, and understand)
-
Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math
-
Computer literacy
-
Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
