What’s a typical day as an Upholstery Technician II?

You’ll be:

• Fabricating, covering, and installing aircraft interior components such as panels, curtains, carpets, bulkheads, and cabin fittings

  
  

• Sewing simple covers using engineering drawings and aircraft specifications

  
  

• Working with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and metal components using adhesives, sewing equipment, and hand and power tools

  
  

• Cutting and serging carpets and covering bulkheads and panels

  
  

• Fitting panels, windows, cabin headliners, sidewalls, hatch panels, and other interior components

  
  

• Using material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off completed work

  
  

• Collaborating with lead and senior technicians to support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives

  
  

• Maintaining compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards

  
  

• Identifying and addressing unsafe conditions proactively

  
  

• Performing other duties as assigned

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

• High School Diploma or GED (required)

  
  

• Minimum 2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, or upholstery/carpet hand tools

  
  

• Aerospace industry experience (preferred)

  
  

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation

  
  

• Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak, and understand)

  
  

• Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math

  
  

• Computer literacy

  
  

• Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
