Job Title: Lab Order Processing Specialist
Location: Salt Lake City UT 84123
Pay: $17/hr 
Shift: Day / On-site (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm


Job Description

As an Order Processing Specialist, you will play a key role in the triage and delivery of samples to designated lab areas. This includes ensuring proper sorting, handling, and storage of samples, verifying, logging in, and documenting all required information, and assembling datapacks and assigning bar code labels. You will be responsible for identifying and documenting any discrepancies, and supporting the organization and distribution of materials to laboratory sections.


Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand or walk for 90% of the workday

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. on a frequent basis

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

  • Strong attention to detail

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Ability to type 35–40 WPM accurately

  • No prior experience necessary—willing to train motivated candidates

Essential Duties

  • Receive all incoming shipments; separate supplies from samples and assign priority numbers

  • Match and organize samples and data packs for delivery

  • Verify information on submission forms; attach barcodes to paperwork and samples

  • Identify any special considerations: cold or warm storage, isolation, delicate handling, etc.

  • Distribute samples, packs, and materials to the appropriate laboratory sections

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move throughout the facility 90% of the day; sit or stand 10% of the day

  • Must routinely move or lift items greater than 45 lbs

  • Must wear personal protective equipment (lab coats, safety glasses, socks and closed-toed shoes, gloves, facemasks)

  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing ladders

Other Requirements

  • Background check and drug test required

  • Long-term, possible temp-to-hire (T-H)

  • Entry-level; training provided
