Safety Engineer: Keep Construction Sites Safe and Compliant for an exciting project in New Albany.
Are you a dedicated safety professional with a passion for protecting people and projects? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Engineer to oversee all safety operations on a major data center power plant construction site in New Albany, Ohio. This on-site role is crucial in ensuring a secure, compliant, and efficient work environment through daily oversight, risk mitigation, and collaboration with diverse teams.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- At least 5 years of hands-on construction safety experience in industrial, infrastructure, data center, power generation, or heavy mechanical/electrical projects
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification
- Recognized safety credentials such as CHST, CST, STSC, CSP, or equivalent (in progress or completed)
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards, NFPA standards, LOTO procedures, hot work permits, confined space safety, and heavy equipment safety protocols
- Proven experience with incident reporting, safety documentation, and conducting safety audits
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions under pressure
- Must be willing to work 100% on-site in New Albany, Ohio for the entire project duration
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with developing safety plans, performing hazard analyses, and conducting safety training sessions
- Prior experience coordinating with subcontractors and site leadership on safety matters
- Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident investigations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional safety training or certifications preferred
- Minimum 5 years of direct safety experience in a construction environment, particularly in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
Other Requirements:
- Full-time on-site presence in New Albany, Ohio
- Regular physical activity including walking and climbing in varying weather conditions
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a zero-incident safety culture, fostering teamwork, and continuous improvement
