Field Service Technician
Ability to travel extensively (70-80% ~250 days/year) all over US
Travel 3 weeks | 1 week home base
Essential Responsibilities
- Commissioning Water Treatment Plants by ensuring process equipment and control systems perform per specifications.
- Act as construction liaison between design engineering and construction teams during plant erection.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance on-site.
- Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers; ensure services and supplies meet project specifications and performance requirements.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and log sheets to document and monitor equipment operation.
- Develop and execute commissioning schedules and performance plans.
- Create and conduct classroom and hands-on training sessions for operation and maintenance of process equipment.
- Participate in model reviews, engineering design meetings, and safety-in-design reviews to ensure accessibility, maintenance, and operation of process equipment.
- Perform control system factory acceptance tests with clients and their representatives.
- Deliver after-market services such as site inspections, equipment inspections, and operator training..
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and reference for future outages.
Technical Skills & Abilities
- Apply mathematical operations to water treatment chemistry calculations, test reliability, budget analysis, and monitoring Time & Material contract costs.
- Troubleshoot alignment and plumb adjustment figures using plane geometry and chemistry formulas.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for improving operations or identifying design limitations.
- Perform PLC/HMI activities: I/O checkout, system networking, program upload/download, ladder logic, function block troubleshooting, and simple logic programming.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HS Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong focus on customer relationships (external and internal).
