Entry Level Associate Chemist – Hackensack, NJ- $24.00/hour
Job Summary
The Associate Chemist will support the development and commercialization of hair care and personal care products, with a strong focus on color matching, small-scale formulation, batch scale-up, and stability program execution. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate color replication of market products, supporting raw material evaluations, and maintaining compliance within GMP/GLP environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform small-scale batching and color matching for hair care products to align with market benchmarks.
- Recreate and match existing product colors using approved raw materials and industry-standard ingredient systems.
- Support batch scale-up activities from lab-scale to pilot-scale production.
- Conduct and manage stability testing, including sample pulls, documentation, and monitoring of color and formula integrity over time.
- Assist in formulation development and optimization of hair care products, including shampoos and color systems.
- Provide raw material support, including evaluation, testing, and documentation of ingredient functionality and compatibility.
- Document experimental work using electronic data and document control systems.
- Ensure compliance with GMP/GLP standards, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Knowledgeable with color matching and small-scale batching.
- Knowledge of stability testing protocols and raw material functionality.
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP environments and electronic documentation systems.
