Job Title: Environmental Technician
Position Summary:
The Associate Environmental Technician is responsible for managing the safe and compliant removal of waste from the TXINN campus. This includes reviewing pre-manifests, creating waste manifests, coordinating pickups, troubleshooting transportation issues, and supporting environmental, industrial hygiene, and health & safety initiatives. The role requires hands-on operational involvement, adherence to compliance standards, and ongoing collaboration with site personnel and researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review pre-manifests and create manifests for all waste leaving the TXINN campus
- Coordinate with Environmental Operations personnel to schedule timely waste pickups
- Troubleshoot manifest and transport issues to ensure safe and compliant disposal
- Collaborate with researchers to develop new Waste Profiles and renew existing ones
- Conduct weekly and semi-annual waste inspections to maintain compliance and safety
- Manage electronic recycling processes for the campus
- Provide support for Industrial Hygiene (IH), employee training, and special projects as assigned
- Share responsibility for implementing the EH&S management system to meet business objectives and safeguard operational licensing
- Use established EH&S procedures and standards for daily program execution and routine work activities
- Ensure Environmental, IH, and Health & Safety protocols are maintained to achieve performance goals; serve as section owner for relevant documentation when applicable
- Serve as the plant’s resource for EH&S procedures, guidelines, and standards
- Be the primary contact for plant Environmental, IH, and Health & Safety issues
- Coach and support plant teams and individuals with EH&S tasks and activities
- Assist in developing and achieving departmental or plant-wide EH&S goals
- Ensure all compliance tasks are completed as required
- Perform and coordinate Environmental and IH monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience in EH&S, manufacturing, or other related environments preferred
- Familiarity with EH&S work processes, standards, and safety protocols
