Customer Service Representative
Waterford, CT | $19–$22/hour | Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm
The Role That Doesn’t Feel Like Work
Most customer service jobs? You’re reading scripts and watching the clock. This one? You’re helping someone prep for their dream fishing trip. Tracking down that impossible-to-find vintage boat part. Turning a stressed-out captain into a loyal customer who calls you directly.
We’re a marine outfitter with serious legacy (think: decades of boating DNA) looking for someone who gets equally excited about solving problems and talking propellers.
What You’ll Actually Do
Be the voice boaters trust
Field calls, emails, and chats from people who need gear now—whether it’s electronics for a weekend cruise or emergency rigging replacements.
Become a product detective
Navigate our deep catalog to match customers with exactly what they need (even when they’re not sure themselves).
Handle the complex stuff
Process orders that involve freight logistics, international shipping, and custom configurations—not just click-and-ship.
Own the outcome
Follow up. Make it right. Turn one-time buyers into lifelong customers.
Level up constantly
We’ll invest in your marine knowledge. You’ll become the person who actually knows the difference between a windlass and a Windex.
You Might Be Our Person If…
- You’ve done customer service before and know how to de-escalate, upsell authentically, and multitask without losing your mind
- You have boating/marine experience (huge plus—but if you’re obsessed with learning, we’ll teach you)
- You communicate like a human, not a chatbot—warm, clear, and solution-focused
- You thrive in organized chaos—phones ringing, emails piling up, and you’re somehow still smiling
- You’re genuinely curious about products, processes, and what makes customers tick
The Fine Print (That Actually Matters)
- Environment: Fast-paced office/call center with occasional trips to the warehouse floor
- Tech: Heavy phone and computer use—you’ll need to pick up new systems quickly
- Physical: Mostly desk-based, some standing/walking when needed
- Requirements: High school diploma minimum, customer service experience required
Ready to Apply?
Send us your resume and a quick note about why marine customer service sounds better than generic customer service. Bonus points if you share your favorite boat story (even if it’s “I’ve never been on one but I’m weirdly fascinated”).
Let’s talk.
