Location: North Dallas, Tx
Temporary, Short-term: 6-8 weeks
Part-time: 20-34 hrs a week
Pay: $23hr
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Deliver outstanding customer service by responding attentively and courteously to patients, families, visitors, and external customers.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette and clear, tactful communication.
- Foster positive working relationships with health center staff and campus departments to ensure effective communication and smooth operations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding Health Center programs, services, and activities.
Reception & Front Desk Duties
- Answer and manage incoming calls for the Health Center.
- Greet and direct patients and guests in a professional manner.
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Conduct patient registration, including pre-arrival registration processes.
- Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Post charges accurately and ensure appropriate referrals are obtained.
- Confirm health service eligibility and verify insurance coverage at the time of registration.
Patient Account & Records Management
- Manage all aspects of medical records within the office.
- Obtain and verify accurate patient account information according to registration procedures.
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment when addressing patient account matters.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in handling patient information in compliance with Health Center policies.
Administrative & Clerical Support
- Utilize the Health Center’s electronic health record (EHR) and clinic operating system to perform daily tasks.
- Provide general clerical support including photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail; maintain and route publications.
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of express mail services (e.g., FedEx, UPS).
- Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing office supplies.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in standard office software and clinic operating systems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in handling patient accounts and administrative responsibilities.
