Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: South Windsor, CT
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour | Weekly Pay


Job Overview

A leading aluminum coating provider serving the aerospace, defense, and energy industries, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team in South Windsor, CT. This role is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring materials and products move efficiently through the facility. The ideal candidate has at least six months of warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving experience and can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.


  • Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.


  • Collaborate with department managers, customer service representatives, vendors, and service providers regarding shipments.


  • Unload trucks and deliveries promptly and sort and stock incoming materials.


  • Unpack incoming customer parts and place them onto transport tables.


  • Maintain accurate daily logs of inventory movements, including scanning and counting items.


  • Enter and update job status for incoming and outgoing shipments in the company ERP system.


  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.


  • Provide backup support for the shipping and receiving department when needed.


  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English and adhere to procedures outlined on job cards and customer specifications.


  • Accurately complete all related paperwork, including routers and internal records.


  • Interact professionally and positively with drivers, vendors, and team members.


  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required protective equipment.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.


  • At least 6 months of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, retail, or customer service.


  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.


  • Strong communication and organizational skills.


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team environment.


  • Ability to regularly lift 10 lbs or more.


  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.


  • Flexibility to work occasional nights, weekends, or additional hours as needed.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience using RF (Radio Frequency) scanning equipment.


  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire).


  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
