Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator
Location: Mt. Vernon, OH (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Schedule Details:
- 12-hour shifts (5:45am – 6:00pm)
- 2-2-3 rotation: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days
- Days only; shift lock applies
About the Role:
Join our production team as a Packaging Machine Operator. You will be responsible for packaging, cleaning, and providing relief during breaks. Primarily working in the production area, you will support the team to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate packaging equipment and ensure proper packaging of finished goods
- Spot outbound trucks into material load docks and secure dock-locks
- Reclaim and refeed off-quality material into the production process
- Perform general cleanup duties (sweeping, blowing down lines, cleaning break rooms)
- Assist with Preventative Maintenance
- Support plant staff with special tasks as needed
- Participate in safety and housekeeping programs
Preferred Experience:
- 1–3 years of manufacturing experience
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Read, write, and speak English
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Team player with ability to work independently
- Intermediate math skills
