Pay Rate: $59/hr

Hours: 8 am – 5 pm M-F

What’s a typical day as Trade Compliance Manager? You’ll be:

  • Managing day-to-day trade compliance operational activities for OpCo in the US and Canada and supporting the global trade compliance function.

  • Collaborating with Supply Chain, Logistics, R&D, Quality, and other departments to provide subject matter expertise, ensuring alignment with all trade laws and internal compliance policies.

  • Leading core tariff mitigation and duty saving strategies—including first sale, duty drawback, country of origin determinations, reconciliation, Section 232 tariff assessments, and cost-avoidance initiatives—to support financial and supply chain business objectives.

  • Developing, implementing, and optimizing trade compliance programs, policies, SOPs, and internal controls to strengthen global compliance standards.

  • Proactively identifying regulatory and operational risks and opportunities and executing continuous process improvements that enhance compliance efficiency, minimize risk, and drive cost savings.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 6 years of experience in customs, export controls, or related fields, demonstrating success in managing trade compliance programs.

  • Possess deep knowledge of US export regulations—including EAR, Census, OFAC, Commerce Control List, ECCN classification, export licensing, and restricted party screening.

  • Have advanced expertise in US customs regulations, customs valuation, HTS classification, country of origin determination, and import compliance requirements.

  • Bring working knowledge of Canadian and EU import/export regulations for effective regulatory decision-making.

  • Have a proven track record in implementing tariff mitigation strategies such as free trade agreements, duty drawback, and reconciliation programs.

  • (Preferred) Are a U.S. Licensed Customs Broker and/or have experience with Oracle, ERP systems, and data analytics tools like Power BI.

  • (Preferred) Have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, especially within the life sciences sector.
