What’s a typical day as a Claims Examiner – Workers Compensation. You’ll be:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role involves handling complex workers’ compensation claims, including investigating and analyzing cases, setting reserves, processing payments, negotiating settlements, and managing litigation through cost-effective and timely action plans. The position ensures legal compliance by preparing state filings, coordinates vendor services, and maintains accurate claim documentation. Regular communication with clients and claimants, reporting to excess carriers, and ensuring quality and service standards are also key functions. Additional duties include supporting organizational programs and some travel.
Requirements:
• Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Prior /current CA Indemnity and Litigated Workers Compensation experience is required.
• In-office in either Roseville, CA or Long Beach, CA, preferably within driving distance of either office in case it is required for them to come in for a quarterly client meeting and training.
• High School Graduate/GED
• Self-Insured Plans certification
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
• Subject matter expert of appropriate insurance principles and laws for line-of-business handled, recoveries offsets and deductions, claim and disability duration, cost containment principles including medical management practices and Social Security and Medicare application procedures as applicable to line-of-business.

• Analytical and interpretive skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills
