Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Packaging Lines
Location: Newark, DE
Duration: 1 Year Contract (Possible Contract to Hire)
Open Shifts:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 06:50am–3:20pm
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 02:50pm–11:20pm
- 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 10:50pm–7:20am
Overview:
Seeking for Maintenance Mechanics to support packaging lines in Newark, DE. You will fabricate parts, conduct inspections, execute preventive maintenance, complete line changeovers, and perform troubleshooting on packaging equipment. Safety awareness and compliance with GMP guidelines are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate parts using lathes, mills, bandsaws, etc.
- Perform machinery inspections and preventive maintenance routines
- Complete line changeovers and basic troubleshooting of packaging equipment
- Comply with machinery safety, electrical safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year hands-on mechanical/maintenance experience (pharmaceutical, food, beverage, cosmetics, or similar environment preferred)
- Trade or technical education (mechanic, electrician, automation, controls, etc.) preferred; formal degree not required
- Mechanical aptitude for assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting small packaging machinery
- Basic electrical/automation knowledge is a plus
- Mechanic certification or relevant experience preferred
Strengths Desired:
- Experience operating or maintaining packaging lines
- Ability to resolve issues and troubleshoot line problems
- Candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred but not required
GMP & Safety Guidelines:
- PPE compliance required (designated uniform, safety glasses, hard hat, hair net, beard cover if needed, safety shoes)
- Prohibited in production: all jewelry/piercings, cosmetics, food/beverages, personal medications, tobacco, alcohol
