Location: Jamestown, NY (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: 3rd Shift – 10:00 PM to 6:00 or 7:00 AM (shift may vary as needed)
Pay Rate: Approx. $38.70/hr + $2.29 shift premium ($39.99/hr total)

Position Summary
The ATF Machine Repair Technician – Level III is responsible for troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems to ensure equipment reliability and optimal uptime within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a seasoned technician with the ability to work both independently and as a technical mentor for other team members. Safety, equipment reliability, and proactive problem-solving are core priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and automation systems to maximize equipment uptime.
- Safely assemble, install, and test mechanical systems, following all safety protocols with electricity and other energy sources.
- Lead preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities while documenting work and providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to solve manufacturing constraints, improve operations, and support TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and model strong HSE behaviors.
- Analyze equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and communicate effectively with production and support teams.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices.
- Participate in machine layout and installation projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree in a related field preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in a relevant trade (e.g., machine repair, industrial electrical, maintenance); OR Journeyman Trade Certificate with relevant experience; OR 2-year technical degree plus 3 years machine repair/industrial electrical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic safety controls.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Expertise in:
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and conveyance systems
- CNC equipment troubleshooting and repair
- Machine layouts and installations
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and conveyance systems
- Experience in at least one of the following: Controls Engineering, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Residential/Commercial Electrical, Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance, Welding/Fabrication, Machining, Agricultural Equipment Maintenance.
- Ability to interpret complex technical information, resolve problems efficiently, and provide clear instruction to others.
- Strong commitment to safety and continuous professional development.
