About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. You will be instrumental in driving excellence in mechanical assembly processes, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about improving manufacturing efficiency, product reliability, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee creation, review, and control of mechanical manufacturing documents including work instructions, assembly drawings, and process flows.
- Collaborate with design teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure designs are manufacturable, ergonomic, and defect-resistant.
- Lead development, maintenance, and updates for PFMEA and risk assessments across mechanical processes, including structural and pressure systems.
- Define and standardize assembly methodologies (fastening, torque validation, gasket/seal interfaces, alignment, workmanship).
- Analyze tolerance stack-ups to avoid fitment, alignment, and leakage issues.
- Direct layout, installation, and build strategies for mechanical subassemblies and support systems.
- Transform complex engineering drawings into clear, actionable work instructions for various skill levels.
- Optimize build sequences to enhance safety, ergonomics, labor efficiency, and takt time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Industrial, Electrical, Controls, Test Engineering) to streamline workflows and minimize defects.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for mechanical build issues and lead rework initiatives.
- Support system commissioning, acceptance testing, and manufacturing readiness related to mechanical integration.
- Ensure documentation control and discipline through production stages and engineering change management.
- Champion continuous improvement projects targeting reliability, quality, process standardization, and cost reduction.
- Mentor and act as technical escalation point for junior engineers and technicians.
- Maintain accurate, controlled mechanical documentation throughout production lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in mechanical manufacturing or industrial equipment assembly.
- Proven track record leading DFM/DFA and process optimization initiatives.
- Experience developing PFMEA and risk mitigation documentation.
- Strong skills in interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and complex assembly prints.
