Pick and Pack Worker (Picker/Packer) Job Description
Reports to: Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader
Position Overview
The Picker/Packer is responsible for alternating duties between picking, packing, loading, and unloading orders or containers, depending on operational needs.
Key Functions
- Receipt of merchandise.
- Unloading containers, trailers, and other delivery units.
- Breaking down pallets by order or item thickness, and labeling items.
- Pulling orders and distributing transfers to other facilities.
- Maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight efficiently and safely using required equipment.
- Move products to storage areas and ensure proper stacking.
- Operate material handling equipment (stand up forklift, pallet jacks, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Pick merchandise for shipment and assemble orders as required.
- Inspect/count freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Adhere to and promote safety protocols.
- Participate in physical inventories as needed.
- Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking of products.
- Report any safety issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
