Forklift Driver / Material Handler

Shift:1st
Location: Auburn, NY

Pay: $22–$24 per hour (DOE)

Position Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced Forklift Driver /Material Handler with 5+ years of forklift experience to join our fulfillment center in Auburn, NY. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented professional who can efficiently manage receiving, storing, handling, and organizing materials while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
This role requires someone who can multitask in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple operational tasks, and ensure materials move accurately and efficiently through the warehouse.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely load, unload, move, pick, and store products and materials.

  • Receive inbound shipments and verify materials against documentation.

  • Manage and fulfill material requests and ensure timely delivery of raw and packaging materials to production or storage areas.

  • Perform order fulfillment tasks including picking, packing, processing transfer orders, and handling samples.

  • Execute put-away operations to ensure inventory is stored accurately and efficiently.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all warehouse activities.

  • Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation using FIFO and FEFO methods.

  • Maintain accurate records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices.

  • Communicate operational issues, discrepancies, or improvement opportunities to management.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and safety within warehouse operations.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

  • Assist with general warehouse upkeep including sweeping, organizing equipment, and maintaining work areas.

  • Demonstrate strong time management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines and changing priorities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5–7 years of forklift experience required!

  • Shipping and receiving experience is required!

  • Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred)

  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); NetSuite experience preferred

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical warehouse tasks

  • Basic math, reading, and documentation skills

  • Comfortable using computers and handheld inventory devices

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

  • Strong dependability, punctuality, and safety-focused work ethic

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules or overtime as needed

  • Experience working in a high-volume distribution environment preferred
