Position Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Compliance Specialist supports regulatory compliance programs for a chemical distribution company serving the industrial, food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory documentation, managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and ensuring compliance with applicable chemical regulations.

The specialist will monitor changes in federal and state regulatory requirements—including OSHA, EPA, TSCA, and GHS—and work closely with operations, sales, quality, and leadership teams to support compliance initiatives, maintain accurate product documentation, and assist with regulatory audits.


Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory documentation.

  • Support OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS labeling compliance.

  • Assist with compliance activities related to EPA, TSCA, and other applicable chemical regulations.

  • Establish regulatory documentation for new product codes.

  • Maintain accurate regulatory records and product compliance documentation.

  • Recommend updates to internal policies and procedures to ensure continued regulatory compliance.

Regulatory Monitoring & Intelligence

  • Monitor changes in federal and state chemical regulations.

  • Interpret regulatory updates and assess their potential impact on company operations.

  • Provide regulatory guidance to leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Track regulatory developments within the chemical industry.

Audit Support & Risk Management

  • Assist in preparing for regulatory and government audits.

  • Support responses to regulatory findings or inquiries.

  • Identify potential compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Training & Internal Support

  • Train employees on regulatory compliance policies and procedures.

  • Educate internal teams on updates to chemical regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as a regulatory resource for internal departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (chemistry, environmental science, regulatory affairs, or related field).

  • Experience in chemical regulatory compliance.

  • Familiarity with OSHA Hazard Communication, GHS, EPA, and TSCA regulations.

  • Experience creating and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

  • Knowledge of chemical distribution or manufacturing regulatory requirements.

  • Strong analytical and regulatory interpretation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position Details

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Salary: $62,000-$63,000/year (potential for bonus)
