Job Posting: Meal Packer – Airline Meals (Kailua Kona)

Pay: $19.50/hr
Schedule: Open availability, Monday – Sunday
Shifts Start: 7:00 am or 8:00 am
Days Off: 2 days off per week (to be assigned)
Location: Kailua Kona


Job Description

Join our team in Kailua Kona as a Meal Packer preparing and packing meals for airline service. This position requires you to be on your feet throughout your shift and work in a cold environment.

Summary: Prepares meal trays for in-flight service of airlines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow established unit rules for entry and attire, comply with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene, and observe security precautions.

  • Read instructional charts/diagrams to determine the amount and kind of foods/supplies to be packaged or assembled.

  • Comply with all HACCP and Flying Food Group sanitation and proper food handling policies/procedures.

  • Cut fruits, vegetables, meats using knives or slicing machinery safely to specified weights/sizes.

  • Portion and garnish hot foods into individual serving dishes; inspect for contamination.

  • Properly store unused food items or supplies, adhering to dating and rotation schedules.

  • Remove and arrange cold food items for tray assembly.

  • Store completed trays in airline storage carts or containers for transportation.

  • Stand or hold fixed positions for duration of shift.

  • Work in varied postures to reach supplies.

  • Traverse work areas and move ingredients.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; frequently up to 30 pounds.

  • Regular exposure to extreme cold (non-weather).
