Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst (Contract)
Location: 100% Remote – must be East Coast based, no exceptions

Must have experience as a Financial Analyst – NOT  Data Analyst or Business Analyst
Duration: 5-Month Contract (FMLA Coverage)
Pay Rate: $40–$45 per hour

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our clients’ team on a 5-month contract basis to provide coverage during a maternity/FMLA leave. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a leading sports marketing and media company, offering the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis, partnering closely with finance, accounting, and business teams. This role requires someone comfortable working with financial data, identifying trends and variances, and supporting leadership with actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

  • Prepare and maintain weekly sales pacing reports and provide insights on revenue trends and performance

  • Analyze P&L accounts and investigate variances, identifying drivers and supporting resolution of discrepancies

  • Support the forecasting and budgeting process, including maintaining financial models and projections

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports for finance leadership and management meetings

  • Partner with Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure proper coding, timely collections, and accurate financial data

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, forecasting processes, and data accuracy

  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and strategic finance projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

  • 4–7 years of financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting experience

  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills

  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system preferred

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint for presenting financial insights

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage multiple priorities
