Location: Doral, FL
Temp to Hire Role
Schedule: Monday- Friday first shift, with Mondays starting as early as 4am, Overtime and weekend work expected
Position Summary
This role supports environmental monitoring (EM) activities in a cleanroom manufacturing environment for HCPTs, medical devices, and biologics. The position is focused on environmental monitoring sample collection, plate inspection, and data review, rather than traditional microbiology laboratory testing. The successful candidate will apply approved microbiological techniques and methodologies to ensure cleanroom compliance with cGMP standards.
This role requires early morning testing schedules, flexibility to support production needs, and experience working within regulated cleanroom environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform routine environmental monitoring (EM) of cleanroom manufacturing areas and personnel.
• Conduct EM activities including viable air, non-viable air, viable surface, and personnel monitoring.
• Inspect and review environmental monitoring plates to ensure compliance with established limits and standards.
• Review and reconcile environmental monitoring samples at the end of production to ensure all required samples were collected.
• Track and trend environmental monitoring data to support quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in cleanroom validations, EMPQs, and media fill activities.
• Support investigations related to environmental monitoring excursions or test failures (OOS).
• Perform all activities using proper aseptic technique and sterile gowning procedures.
• Maintain media and reagents needed for environmental monitoring activities.
• Assist with scheduling priorities to support production timelines and team goals.
• Follow established safety, hygiene, and regulatory procedures within the cleanroom environment.
• Complete required training and maintain compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
• Strong knowledge of environmental monitoring practices in regulated cleanroom environments
• Familiarity with cGMP and GLP requirements
• Ability to maintain detailed documentation and review environmental monitoring data
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to aseptic technique
• Ability to work independently and within fast-paced manufacturing environments
Position Expertise / Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Microbiology or related scientific field required
• Minimum 2 years of environmental monitoring or cleanroom microbiology experience preferred
• Prior experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
• Sedentary work requiring standing and/or sitting
• Ability to operate in a cleanroom environment for up to 5 hours at a time
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
• Color vision and depth perception required
