Pay Rate: $120-140K based on experience
1st shift: 7am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday)
What’s a typical day as Shipping Manager? You’ll be:
- Ensuring all outgoing products and materials are transported efficiently and economically
- Negotiating rates and coordinating freight with carriers
- Communicating with internal teams (sales, managers, senior staff) and external partners (carriers, ports, shipping agents) to troubleshoot logistics issues and negotiate pricing
- Providing logistics analysis and maintaining competitive information on freight
- Developing and managing performance metrics for shipping and logistics operations
- Leading by example to promote safety, efficiency, and a positive work environment
- Motivating employees and maintaining high standards of quality, morale, and productivity
- Overseeing inventory of supplies necessary for day-to-day operations
- Assisting the Director, Manufacturing Supply Chain in daily operations of Fabrication, Shipping, and Packing
- Ensuring compliance with work instructions, policies, safety, quality, and ISO standards
- Optimizing workflow, controlling overtime, vacation hours, and evaluating employee performance
- Addressing disciplinary actions and collaborating with Human Resources to resolve employee issues
- Driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Bring at least five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics (required)
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes
- Excel in analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Have experience with Manufacturing ERP systems (Infor Syteline ERP experience preferred)
- Are capable of sitting for extended periods and lifting 25-50 lbs. as needed
