Field Service Technician – Power Generation Equipment (New Albany, Ohio)
Are you an experienced field service professional with expertise in large gas engines and a passion for technical excellence? We’re seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team, supporting power generation systems at our New Albany, Ohio location. If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, thrive in dynamic environments, and are committed to delivering high-quality service, this could be the perfect career move for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on power generation equipment, ensuring maximum availability and minimal downtime

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify faults on large gas engines and associated balance of plant equipment

  • Maintain certification status through ongoing participation in e-trainings, classroom sessions, and hands-on field training

  • Respond to after-hours callouts in a timely, professional manner

  • Collect, label, and dispatch oil samples according to established procedures

  • Accurately select, order, and use replacement parts, minimizing waste by returning unused components to inventory

  • Keep van stock and personal tooling in excellent, safe, and calibrated condition

  • Prepare and submit timely, clear service reports and recommendations

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Service Manager, customers, and on-site team members

  • Ensure all service work aligns with strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards

  • Foster strong relationships with customers through professional conduct and high-quality site presentation

  • Uphold housekeeping standards and maintain company-supplied equipment to the highest cleanliness and operational standards

  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices and new team members as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant field service experience

  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude

  • Extensive knowledge of large gas engines

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

  • Reasonable IT competency

  • Ability to work independently and manage time and workload effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in power generation environments

  • Understanding of reciprocating gas engines and engine overhauls
