Stamp Press Operator (Contract-to-Hire)
Join our manufacturing team as a Stamp Press Operator, where you will oversee the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of metal forming presses on 2nd shift.
Job Specifications
- Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Location: Walker, MI
- Pay Rate: $18.50/hour and up, commensurate with experience + $0.50/hour 2nd shift premium
- Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 5 AM – 3:10 PM, Monday–Thursday (First day orientation at 7:30 AM)
- 1st Shift: 5 AM – 3:10 PM, Monday–Thursday (First day orientation at 7:30 AM)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate stamping presses for accurate metal forming and part production
- Load materials, monitor feeding process, and ensure packaging standards
- Conduct product checks using inspection tools and maintain production records
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; report equipment and die readiness
- Enter production data into software and perform duties as requested by management
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of experience/training in stamp press operation or equivalent background
- Forklift (Hilo) license preferred
- Strong reading, writing, and comprehension abilities for safety and process documentation
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
- Frequent handling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and listening
- Some climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting up to 40 lbs
- Adequate vision for close, distant, and peripheral tasks; high noise environment
- Strict adherence to PPE standards in production zones
