Warehouse Supervisor (Production Equipment Support Supervisor)
Location: Edgewood, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (availability required until 5:00 PM and occasional weekends/holidays based on production volume)
Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000 annually
Direct Reports: Approximately 15–20 technicians/mechanics
Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor (Production Equipment Support Supervisor) is responsible for overseeing production equipment operations and maintenance within a high-volume production environment. This role provides leadership and mechanical support to production mechanics, ensures equipment reliability, monitors workflow, and maintains production efficiency. The supervisor is also responsible for parts inventory management, preventive maintenance oversight, and team development.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direction, leadership, and technical support to production mechanics and technicians.

Monitor production equipment performance and ensure repairs are completed promptly to maintain continuous workflow.

Maintain and manage parts inventory by identifying required parts, vendors, and associated costs.

Track preventive maintenance records and ensure maintenance is completed according to scheduled deadlines.

Monitor daily production reports related to throughput and equipment downtime and provide feedback to improve performance.

Evaluate and improve machine efficiency and operational performance.

Ensure departmental administrative documentation and reporting are completed accurately and in accordance with procedures.

Maintain personnel records for direct reports and support employee development.

Conduct coaching, training, counseling, and performance reviews for technicians.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence within the department.

Manage labor costs, overtime, and inventory control to meet or exceed cost-per-unit targets.

Stay informed on new technologies and equipment used within production and technical support operations.

Provide daily updates to senior management regarding work scheduling and operational status.

Assume department management responsibilities when the Department Manager is absent.
Qualifications
-
Associate’s Degree or completion of Technical/Trade School.

Minimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining production equipment.

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment.

Proven experience conducting performance reviews and leading technical teams.

Proficiency in operating and repairing insertion and bindery equipment.

Experience with electrical and electronic circuit repair (strongly preferred).

Familiarity with Jet/IQ reporting tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits
