Job Title: Machine Operator / Production Equipment Technician
Location: Edgewood, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)


Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator / Production Equipment Technician to join our production team in Edgewood, NY. This on-site position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, support equipment installations, and help maintain accurate service records while following all safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.


  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues related to production machinery.


  • Respond promptly to technical support requests and resolve equipment issues efficiently.


  • Log maintenance work, parts usage, and service requests into the technician tracking system (e.g., FIIX).


  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, controls, and computer hardware related to production equipment.


  • Assist with the relocation and installation of new production equipment as needed.


  • Monitor and track parts usage and provide recommendations for inventory levels.


  • Read and interpret technical service manuals and bulletins to develop troubleshooting solutions.


  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements.


  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.


  • Contribute to a positive team environment and support the development of junior technicians.


  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding equipment performance and technician development.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.


  • 3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment with equipment repair responsibilities.


  • Experience operating and repairing high-speed production equipment.


  • Vendor or equipment repair certification (e.g., BlueCrest, Bowe, Buhrs insertion platforms) preferred but not required.


  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical skills.


  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in time-sensitive environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.


  • Ability to lift, carry, and move 25+ pounds regularly.
