Join the Kelly® Professional & Industrial team as a Financial Compliance Consultant with Arizona’s Department of Economic Security (DES), supporting financial accuracy, governmental compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Set Up: Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote

  • Employment Type: 6-month contract

What’s a typical day as a Financial Compliance Consultant?

You will:

  • Evaluate and review multiple bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Advise management on designing and implementing effective reconciliation procedures and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Establish and monitor checks and balances for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), working closely with internal and external partners.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for governmental accounting and the latest GASB pronouncements.

  • Ensure all financial statements and reporting meet Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and GASB standards.

  • Collaborate on the development and revision of departmental policies, especially on internal controls and ACFR reporting.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field

    • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience


  • Preferred:

    • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred

    • At least three (3) years’ experience within a government agency, municipality, school district, or public accounting firm focused on governmental audits

    • Previous hands-on experience preparing and reviewing ACFRs

    • Expert-level knowledge of fund accounting, GASB standards, and governmental financial reporting

    • Experience with automated accounting systems (ERP or SAL)
