Production Coordinator
Location: Norwood, MA
Pay Range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually
Position Type: Full-Time | Direct-Hire
Hours: Monday – Friday | 7am to 4pm
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Shift Activity Coordinator (Production Coordinator) to oversee and coordinate daily production activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring that products are manufactured on time, in the correct quantities, and to quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in production scheduling, workflow coordination, and cross-functional communication, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Coordination

Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity

Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to meet deadlines and changing priorities

Communicate production status updates across departments
Material & Work Order Management

Monitor raw material inventory and initiate purchase orders as needed

Coordinate timely delivery of materials to the production floor

Process, track, and update work orders throughout the production cycle

Identify potential delays and escalate issues proactively
Quality & Process Improvement

Support quality control efforts by ensuring products meet specifications and standards

Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams on non-conformance reports (NCRs) and engineering change requests (ECRs)

Assist in process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track key production metrics such as cycle times, yields, and scrap rates

Analyze production data to identify trends and improve efficiency

Generate reports on production output, delivery timelines, and performance
Collaboration & Problem Solving

Work closely with Production Managers, Engineering, and Quality teams

Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment issues, and staffing challenges

Support production floor activities when needed to meet delivery goals
Qualifications
-
Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing experience
-
2+ years of supervisory or coordination experience preferred
-
Experience in cable and wire manufacturing is a plus
-
Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards preferred

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and technical documentation

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus

Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced environments
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50–75 lbs occasionally

Ability to work on the production floor as needed
