The company partners with clients across power generation, water treatment, and heavy industrial environments to design and implement control systems that improve operational efficiency, system reliability, and safety.

The Senior Process Control Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of industrial control systems. This role supports complex utility and manufacturing processes and serves as a technical leader—owning projects from concept through commissioning while mentoring junior engineers and supporting plant operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop control documentation including P&IDs, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and control narratives

  • Specify instrumentation, control panels, and industrial communication networks

  • Tune PID and advanced control loops to improve process performance

  • Analyze system data to identify efficiency improvements and reduce downtime

  • Implement advanced control strategies (cascade, feedforward, ratio control)

  • Lead integration of utility systems including steam, boilers, chilled water, compressed air, and water treatment

  • Support combustion control systems, emissions monitoring, and balance-of-plant operations

  • Integrate control systems with plant electrical infrastructure and MCCs

  • Specify and troubleshoot process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level)

  • Perform root cause analysis for control and instrumentation failures

  • Program PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley preferred)

  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and plant startup activities

  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, ISA, and applicable safety standards

  • Support safety instrumented systems (SIS), alarm management, and HAZOP participation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Process Engineering required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • 8–12+ years of industrial process control engineering experience

  • Experience supporting utilities, power generation, or heavy manufacturing environments

  • Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming and commissioning

  • Strong knowledge of process control theory and PID tuning

  • Experience integrating control systems with industrial electrical infrastructure

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior engineers

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Company Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with company match
