Shift: 1st Shift (6:00am–2:30pm)
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Job Overview
The Assembly Operator I plays a key role in the production process by assembling and testing electronic and mechanical components on the general assembly line. This entry-level position follows standardized work instructions, manufacturing drawings, and operating procedures to ensure product quality and efficiency. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components according to standardized work instructions, top-level, and sub-level drawings.
- Test electronic/mechanical assemblies using appropriate testing methods and equipment.
- Operate hydraulic presses and other assembly equipment as required.
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Operation Method Sheets (OMS).
- Use small hand tools and microscopes for detailed assembly and inspection tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering to 5S standards throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety protocols and supervisor instructions at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to use microscopes and small hand tools for precision work.
- Ability to read and comprehend assembly instructions, drawings, and SOPs.
- Willingness to follow all safety and quality guidelines.
- Physical ability to stand for most of the shift and lift/move up to 15 pounds unassisted (occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Entry-level position; previous assembly or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
- Regular use of hands for detailed assembly work.
- Frequent standing, with occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Requires close vision for detailed work.
