Production Operator II

Shift: Swing Shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm)
Compensation: $24 per hour


Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for operating equipment to manufacture products from raw materials into finished goods, ensuring quality standards and efficient workflow throughout the process. This position maintains accurate records, conducts in-process testing, identifies and resolves equipment or product issues, and supports production and inventory planning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures to produce high-quality finished goods.

  • Track, document, and maintain inventory records for raw materials and work-in-process.

  • Perform in-process quality checks, such as hardness, weight, pH, and moisture content testing, to verify products meet required specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and product variances to maintain optimal production levels.

  • Follow blueprints, subassembly layouts, and schematics for product assembly and process adherence.

  • Communicate and coordinate with materials planning, production, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate scheduling and resource allocation.

  • Maintain detailed records of orders received, work completed, and inventory levels; requisition materials as needed upon determining delivery dates.

  • Adjust workflow and equipment usage to align with current production demands and inventory status.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required (exceptions may apply for specific locations – see job posting). If not verifiable by the issuing school, a copy or proof of education is acceptable.

  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, basic testing procedures, and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

  • Compliance: ITAR compliance required.

  • Other Requirements: Safety shoes required.

  • Ability to interpret and accurately follow work instructions, procedures, and company policies.

  • Critical thinking to identify production deviations and take corrective action as needed.

  • Attention to detail in performing quality checks and maintaining records.

  • Collaborative approach to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Willingness to adapt to changing production needs and priorities.
