Job Title: Senior Auditor – Banking
Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite Tuesday–Thursday in Waterloo, Friday & Monday remote)
Job Overview
The Account Manager II (Senior Auditor) supports the delivery of high-quality, risk-based audit services within the banking environment. This role is responsible for assisting in the execution of various audit engagements, including key risk audits, financial controls testing, and emerging risk reviews.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Audit Services, this position works closely with internal stakeholders to assess risk management practices, evaluate control effectiveness, and provide value-added recommendations. The role plays a key part in ensuring operational integrity while maintaining independence within the audit function.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in planning and executing audit projects in alignment with departmental standards
• Conduct interviews with business unit management to identify and assess key risks
• Support the development of audit programs to evaluate business processes and controls
• Assess control effectiveness and identify gaps or areas of improvement
• Participate in financial controls testing, project audits, and emerging risk reviews
• Assist in preparing audit reports, including executive summaries and detailed findings
• Develop practical, value-added recommendations to improve risk management and operational efficiency
• Present audit findings and recommendations to business stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• University degree required
• Professional designation such as CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, or CIA
• 3–5 years of internal or external audit experience, preferably within banking
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk management, and control frameworks
• Ability to analyze business processes and assess risk implications effectively
Must-Have Skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder interaction skills
• Experience with auditing and documentation
• Banking industry experience
• Experience planning and executing audit projects, developing audit programs, and following up on audit issues
