Job Description:
Supervise product manufacturing by organizing, supervising staff and monitoring work flow of each manufacturing processes for the respected shift.
Pay Range: $24-28 per hour
Schedule: 7:00pm-7:00am

Full time, temp to hire.
Direct supervisor:
Production Manager
Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Personnel

    • Ensures that all employees are aware of job expectations.

      • Ensure properly trained to complete required job tasks

      • Continually monitoring and appraising job results.

      • Coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees.

      • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

      • Conduct performance reviews, provide areas of development and recognize achievements


    • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action

    • Ensure that employees are trained in the procedures, material, and equipment prior to commencing work.

    • Foster spirit of cooperation between all departments

    • Maintain professional relationship up and down the chain command


  • Production

    • Complete provided 2nd shift production plan

    • Responsible for schedule adherence while still maintaining high quality standards.

    • Monitor workflow and adjust as required and communicate up the chain of command

    • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process

      • Setting processing variables

      • Observing processes and equipment

      • Monitoring personnel and resources


    • Hands-on approach to supervising the manufacturing of product, frequently checking quality, good manufacturing documentation, process flow and adherence to process steps / work instructions

    • Maintain quality manufacturing by establishing and enforcing organizational standards


  • Production performance

    • Look for and provide feedback on efficiencies, continuous improvement, cost improvements, and innovation.

    • Identify production bottlenecks or constraints and work with others to improve product flow

    • Ensure all completed production documentation are completed

Planning

    • Ensure equipment, materials and documentation prepared prior to manufacturing 

    • Ensure employees are properly trained to complete required manufacturing and other tasks as assigned

    • Facilitate and ensure corrections to manufacturing issues (corrective actions) are implemented in future lot runs

    • Ensures operational readiness of equipment by requesting repair work orders as needed


  • Safe and clean work environment

    • Ensure adherence to safety procedures, regulations, and commitment to creating a safe working environment.

    • Communicate when equipment needs repair or is not maintained at safety standards


  • Communication

    • Communicates deviations to the production plan

    • Communicates effectively up and down the chain of command

  • Contributes to the TEAM EFFORT

    • Accomplishing related results as needed

Knowledge in the following areas:

  • Extrusion processes

  • Ability to know, understand, and communicate the various extrusion processes

  • PBS policies and procedures

  • Labor standards

  • General mechanical aptitude

  • Fork truck operation and safety

  • Communicate effectively

  • General computer operations

  • MS Office (Excel / Word / OneNote)
