Job Summary:

  • This position is in charge of primary packaging development for new products under R&D scope. 

  • The candidate will be in charge of packaging related projects and will ensure coordination with several parties including product development, regulatory, tech transfer, procurement, customer, and suppliers. 

  • The candidate will have to either homologate existing packaging from suppliers or build partnerships for full development. 

  • The candidate will also be in charge of developing and updating the standard packaging offer for USA R&D

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the packaging aspect of a product development, making sure the proposed packaging conforms to client’s briefing, filling and regulatory standards. 

  • Establish packaging specification for a NPD

  • Manage the technical relationship with packaging suppliers, to know their standard range, customization capabilities and innovation. 

  • Being capable to identify packaging suppliers for NPD involving a packaging development

  • Be a technical resource to provide valuable information to other department inside R&D (product development, compatibility, regulatory) or outside R&D (tech transfer)

  • Source and update an economically viable range of packaging with local suppliers that could be used for sampling purpose. 

Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • MS. Or BS. Degree (Masters of Science Preferred) in packaging or packaging science. 

  • 1-2+ year of experience in a similar position preferred. 

  • High proficiency on common packagings required (jars, tubes)

Technical Skills and Abilities:
Required: 

  • Packaging technical knowledge on basic formats (tubes, jars, sticks, pumps, bottles), material technical knowledge (plastics, aluminum, tinplate, complexes), interaction between packaging and content, packaging related regulatory aspects
