Shift: 2nd Shift 6PM-2AM 
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 40 per week
Overtime: MANDATORY AND REQUIRED 
 

Job Description

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment—including sit-down and clamp forklifts—to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role also includes order filling and checking duties, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring customer service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using forklifts and related equipment.

  • Safely unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.

  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring counts and types are accurate.

  • Perform picking duties according to customer service standards.

  • Move product from staging/storage areas into trailers.

  • Operate all equipment in a safe, efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.

  • Assist in physical inventories and conduct cycle counts as requested.

  • Report safety concerns and inventory discrepancies timely to management.

  • Complete inspection forms before equipment operation.

  • Use RF scanning equipment for inventory accuracy.

  • Ensure proper stock rotation.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

  • Minimum 3 months forklift or warehouse distribution equipment experience

  • Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours and lift/pull 50 lbs without restriction

  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head

  • Able to work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions; facility is over a quarter mile in length

  • Availability to work irregular/extended hours—including nights, weekends, and holidays—as needed

  • Must be able to obtain NFI forklift certification

  • Attention to detail, basic math skills, and excellent customer service skills

  • Proficient with Excel and general computer knowledge

  • Basic safety understanding with equipment operation
