Job Overview: Technician with moderate experience, capable of independent work, problem-solving, and managing more complex tasks without constant supervision.
Job Description and Qualifications:
Lab Logistics Support
- Maintain Labs with proper 6s lab processes– Sort, Set in Order, Safety, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
- Receiving/Mailroom– Pick-up, move, unpack, and transfer orders & lab materials via hand carry, carts, pallet jacks.
- Inventory Record/update inventory, store, audit monthly, Additional tasks as required.
- Scan CPUs, boards, hardware and systems on intake software for installation, Issue/return & assign of inventory in all required databases.
- Lift/Carry 40 pounds– Team lift over 40 pounds, utilize server lift for racking and moving.
- Work standing up most of the time– (80%), Multiple large labs, use of PPE where required, dedicated workbench area for sitting.
Lab Technical Support
- Manage assigned tickets and tasks– Addressing/updating/closing tickets per defined priority and within the SLA.
- Maintain & Adjust system configurations– SOC upgrades, HW, SW addition/modification.
- Perform 1st-level triage– Troubleshoot basic hardware & OS-specific issues, reseat SOCs, re-flashing BIOS/IFWI, unresponsive clients, KVM/DUT hang problems, recover as needed, ticket creation for unrecoverable clients outside Layer 1 recovery.
- Perform manual client maintenance & updates– Hardware/Debugger additions, SW/FW/Driver updates.
- Deploy new client & server systems– Follow standardized procedures for racking/setup, Connect remote access, Power, Network, Input config detail (KVM, PDU, UDP/ADP).
- Build out new deployment areas– Configure/assemble new HDR/LDR, wire network, KVM, PDU, adjust for expansion and/or new project/program requirements, Additional tasks as required.
- Networking– Register DHCP, KVMs, Static IP, Test cable/patch panel connectivity.
All Level 1 Technician duties:
- The candidate must have strong background in building computers, be familiar with computer hardware, and must have excellent Windows OS skills.
- Experience in Platform Engineering Design.
- Hands-on Installing Gfx Drivers.
- Strong Networking knowledge.
- Candidate must have expert knowledge of using SW such as Microsoft Windows, Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- 2-3 years of experience with customer service calls and field repair and troubleshooting of user systems.
- Able to train and support team with troubleshooting of standard practices.
- A strong working knowledge of operating systems, network environments, and PC applications.
- Experience in debugging and triage engineering systems and communicating complex issues to management and users.
- Report weekly firmware testing and firmware automation testing/flashing information.
- Serve as technical lead for troubleshooting and configuring.
